Description I’m not entirely sure where this came from or how old it actually, it was given to me by my mum who said she got it when she was a teenager but doesn’t have the best memory of where she was in the wold at the time. Since she’s in the late seventies, I guess it means they’re at least 50 years old. One set side is carved from what I think is ivory but I’m not an expert; the other is wood. The pawn characters are kneeling but the rook, knight and bishop are characters riding a camel, a horse or an elephant and the queen and king are both on more elaborate elephants. The set also comes with a wooden folding backgammon/chess board.
