antique stand up lamp

Description I have been told that this lamp was a "coffin" lamp in a funeral parlor. It was given to my family in payment for services provided to prior owner. I have not tried to clean it as I don't know what to use. It has some broken pieces. It was converted from gas to electric but it appears no damage was done to the lamp body itself. I have added the lamp shade as it did not have one.
