I have a Lador music box and I am interested to establish how old it is. It seems unusual as the comb has 51 teeth and all the pictures I have seen on the internet of Lador mechanisms are stamped 'Lador Switzerland', whereas, on this piece 'Lador' is in a fancy script with a lyre or other instrument behind it. Below 'Lador' there is 'BREVET + DEM' and 'No.71894'. The box plays several tunes (but 'squeaks' a little). There is a key/wiinder underneath the box and an It is in a walnut veneer box and on the inside of the lid is what looks like a photochrome postcard of 'Glion et les Dents du Midi' in Switzerland.Underneath is part of a label listing the 6 tunes the box plays, but the label torn and only part can be read.
