Description
I know very little about the piece, except that it is made of solid pine wood.
The top has been recently sanded down.
I have included a picture of the nails, if that is of any help.
I would like as much information as possible that can be deduced from the photographs.
Re: Solid Pine Table
Tables like this are generically called " Harvest tables", the idea they were hauled out during the late summer to feed the hired hands at harvest time. Examples like this were made from the 1840's through to the 1870's. In reality most were used in kitchens as a general purpose work surface used for everything from bread making to the laying out deceased relatives (Funeral home viewings are a relatively modern thing). Values for them vary by size wood type and condition, examples like yours in need of repair sell for under $500.00.
