The front of the watch is beautiful with roman numerals and also 5 - 60 seconds, noted every 5 seconds. It has a second hand at the bottom of the front of the watch. It does not have a crystal (or cover) on the face. In a fancy font, the name, W F Laraway it written on the front of the watch with Glenwood, Iowa written directly under the name.
There is approximately 1/4" rim around the face that turns several times to remove it.At the top of the watch is a ornated bolt like ball with a loop over the ball. You unscrew the ball to release the face to open up. Inside is really where I find most of the watches beauty. The gold has intricate designs and has more writings with the fancy font with W. F. Laraway Glenwood, Iowa 17 jewels with the #'s 559904. On the inside of the back, more writings.....patented C.W.C. Co.
