Hand Carved Wood Fireplace Surround

Description This fireplace surround is hand carved wood and in mint condition. I was told it's from Europe and was found in an estate somewhere in NJ/NY vicinity. I am unsure of the wood species although I think it may be Cherry. I have used this surround only for decorative purposes and added a removable center piece of black tile to give it a "finished" look. The tile is glued to a masonite board which is delicately tacked onto the surround from behind and has not damaged or marred the surround at all. It is easily removable if unwanted.

It's in the style of Georgian/Federal style mantels originally made during the late 18th to early 19th Century. It looks like walnut in the images, at auction about $300.00- $500.00.
