water, saki, wine canteen or barrel

Description

Its a wood barrel type container, has wood slats around with two strips of brass over it and a thin leather strap running under the brass to carry on your shoulder. The wood has hand carved grapes and a leaf on one side and leaves and some kind of fruit on the other side, both sides have oriental writting around the picture, the spout also has decorative carvings and it stands on 4 brass pedastil feet. The leather strap has been broke in three different places but have all been tied back in knots, all three knots look the same as if they were tied by the same person. The varnish is fading a bit, other than that it is in excellent condition. I would like to know what it is and what its worth. Any information would be great its such a nice piece.
