Ethan Allen cherry table

Category
Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

The maker's mark shows Ethan & Allen, Plant No. 18, 11-8165

When I got this the top of it was in bad shape.  The folks left drinks on it that caused rings.  I felt I needed to fix it to make it worth something again.  So I sanded the top down to bare wood and sanded for hours and hours until it was smooth as a baby's bottom.  I used a natural stain and then applied two coats of polyurethane with lite sanding in between coats with steel wool.  I also had to add new knobs as the originals were broken and/or missing.  I think it turned out great.  I didn't touch anything else.

Netsuke

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

These two netsukes were brought back from Japan during the period of WW2 around 1945. The first one is signed and is approximately 7.5 " tall. The second one is made of wood and has ivory teeth and stands about 5" tall. This is all I know.

I am interested in knowing a bit about it and some appraisal.

thank you,

monica

Small cabinet

Category
Home Furnishings
Condition
Poor
Description

A couple of weeks ago i purchased what was described as a hallway cabinet and i am struggling to find any information on this kind of cabinet. The only clue i can find is the words, Turner Australia swivel glides, on the bottom of the legs. It is in need of quite a bit of work to restore and i am wondering if its value warrants a lot of work being done to it. The doors are curved and made of plywood with a veneer covering and the top is made from a type of chipboard with veneer covering.
