I have a George Zee & CO. hand carved coffee table from 1957. I even have the original receipt. It was bought on October 6th, 1957 for $50.00. The serial # from the receipt is k222. The metal plate on the bottom of the table has # NO 56-35679. This piece is in very good condition and I would be willing to sell for the right price.
The table was hand carved by George Zee in 1956. His autograph is even on the warranty sheet that came with the table. The table has a small drawer in the front and has a fitted plate of glass on top.

What's this dining set worth? We purchased this table 13 years ago from an antiques dealer in SW Ohio, who told us it was built in the 1930s. This info is in keeping with what we've learned about Angelus, which apparently stopped making these types of tables around WWII.
It measures about 6x4 when fully closed. When the leaves are added, it stretches to nearly 10' long.
A tab can be pulled to slide the table open, revealing the leaves inside, which unfold and slide into place.
When we bought the table, it needed refinished, a task we did not take on. The chairs also desperately needed reupholstered. We did a temporary fix but nothing professional.
