James Quality Jewellrs Buddha Bar Set

Category

Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a 9 piece bar set that has embossed handles. Each piece has a Buddha figure on it. It came from James Quality Jewellers 542/13-14 Petchaburi Rd. Metro Theatre, Bangkok, Thailand , P.O. Box 2144. The label also has an address for their branch store.

The bars set is georgeous, it doesn't look like it has been used at all. The box is lined with felt and it has an elastic band to hold it in place. The box is in great shape too, no water damage , mildew or other damage. The metal is free from rust on all of the pieces.

Shaw Walker Oak Cabinet 47 Drawers

Category
Other
Condition
Fair
Description

This File cabinet belonged to a 30 yr. old's great-grandfather...That's all I know about it history wise...

It has three sections to it.  A base, a 24 drawer middle section, and a 23 drawer top section.  The "lid" removes apparantly to add additional sections if you wish? and either of the existing sections can be interchanged with each other.  I assume you could stack these things as tall as you wanted back in the day.

I don't know if I should mess with trying to clean it up, but I may consider selling it as I have no room for it anywhere other than in my shop.. Use it for nuts and bolts and misc.

Is there a way to date this?  Is there a name for this kind of article?  At first I thought it might be a type-setter's case, but no way to be sure...Maybe a bank or library file cabinet..

Lastly, what could it be worth?

I am not a collector or dealer so any help on this would be appreciated...

Thanks a bunch!

Jim

Vintage Kansas City Chiefs Wood, Folding Tailgate Table

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I have a vintage, wood folding tailgate table with wheels on one end.  The word "Chiefs" and the Kansas City football team Arrowhead symbol are etched into one end of the top.  The table is a heavy wood and folds flat with a handle for carrying.  When you pull the wood apart, it then folds into itself to form a serving tailgate table with wheels on one end for easy moving.  The table stands 28"L x 18"W x 24"H.  The wood planks that make up the table top are 18"L x 2 1/2'W.  The stain on the top alternates wood planks between a deep red and a dark brown.

The Chiefs began in Kansas City around 1964.  I cannot find any markings on the table suggesting a manufacturer.  I don't know if this was made by a company or is a hand-made item by someone here in town years ago.  The Chiefs tailgates have been huge here for decades so it could be that someone made it themselves and that it's a one of a kind.

The stain on top shows use and flaws in spots, but the wood itself is in great shape without big dings or chips.  The wheels still move well.  The table easily folds up flat and then can be carried by the wood handle.  The table moves slightly side to side when it's set up rather than being "firm in place", but it is not flimsy.

Have you seen these types of vintage wood folding, tailgate/serving tables before?  Does anyone know what the value of the table might be?
