I have a dining room set that I believe to be Davis Cabinet Company from Nashville Tennessee. I would estimate it to be around 40 to 50 years old. I have a small hutch, large china hutch, server, table, and six chairs. One chair is in need of an arm repair. There are two head chairs and four side chairs. It state it is made of Solid Appalacian Beech Wood in a label that matches the Davis Cabinet label. On the bottom of one of the chairs is a label from the Davis Cabinet Company. Overall, it is in very good condition. There are some use marks on the server, but the other pieces are in very good condition. There is metal inserts on the large china cabinet doors and the doors of the server.I don't know if I want to sell this or if I want to keep it at this point, but would like a value so I can make a good decision. The wood is very pretty, and I usually use chalk paint or milk paint to "fluff" up my finds, but I feel that might not be the best way to go with this set. Thank you so much!
From base to top of thumb piece it measures 6.5 inches
From lip to widest part of handle 5.5 inches.
Weight is 18 ozs
No dings or dents or signs of repair.
All stamps are well struck and readable in base and lid.
A slightly smaller rare tankard that is referred to as a ladies tankard of which many fewer were made.
Robert Albin Cox was apprenticed by Humprey Payne.
His works include a set of sugar tongs that were given to George Washington as a wedding gift.
This Tankard was made in the last year of George II the same year as the deaths on the Plains of Abraham of the generals Wolfe and Montcalm, the birth of Robbie Burns and the opening of the Guiness Brewery. 1759 is thought of as the start of the great industrial revolution, the year the pope allowed the bible to be translated into english and the opening of the very first museum.
I have an old Meerschaum Pipe that I would like appraised and eventually sold. I have pictures and have never smoked out of it. It has been used maybe once or twice at the most.
I have my grandmothers White sewing machine model 808... Its in amazing condition... had most likely been used only a couple times and then stored nicely in its self containing, built in cover... it includes all attachments including foot pedal, power cord and owner manual, which are all in really nice condition as well... anything you could tell me about the value of this would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks so much for your time!! -Rie
Formica topped table with one leaf. Removing the leaf, I noticed that it has a gear type slider. The mechanism was manufactured by Walters of Wabash, Jamestown, TN. The chairs are bucket type vinyl that swivel. Wrought iron curls on base of table and chairs. Want to know age of item and value.
