Trophy is 8" tall and base is 3 1/2" across. It looks like figure is made of copper, mounted on a bronze base. The engraving says SOPHOMORES 35 INTERMURAL. The figure is holding a lace up basketball.
I have recieved this Lane Cedar Chest while helping someone move. We were paid to help them move so I put that down as the price paid. (25.00). I have included pics. I looked it up on the internet but unable to find exactly what I wanted. . I know it was made 12/09/1939. That is the serial number read backwards. It is made in AltaVista VA. I wanted to what is worth and the type of wood on the outside. I found this very interesting about the serial number.
Looking for a ballpark estimate for an outright sale. Everything works and all the leather is original. Also looking for any information to help date it.
I have a 5 piece Mahagony Parlor furniture set, with chairs, rocker and seatee. It has carved lion head arms and claw feet. It has a tag on it that says "Southern Parlor Furniture Company, LTD, New Orleans". I need as much information as possible and to see if it is worth anything and where i might be able to sell it. We have the cushions, the seat bottoms have springs and Upholster made of brocade ( sorry about speling). I was told it is from the 1880's but not real sure.
