I was exploring in my backyard in southwest virginia, when I found a Crouse and Hinds Traffic Signal. It's paint is chipped and its locked shut. Im pretty sure it's a GS and GA controller model. It's solid metal and very heavy.

White Glaze Hummel 50/0 T.M. 1 The Volunteers

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Condition
Good
Description

I cannot find any information about this Hummel figurine and was wondering if anyone had heard of it. My Grandmother was German, and lived in occupied Germany after WW II. She collected Hummels while she was there, directly from "The Nuns" she would say. This one, and a few others like it, she said were mistakes, but they were her favorite type.

I can identify the name of the two figures. It is called the Volunteers. My research shows it is stamped, no color added, with the first mark and the number 50/0. It does say "Hummel" by the feet. It is unpainted, just white glossed glazed. There are obvious flaws, such as the bottom edges are rough and there is a peice of ceramic actually glazed to the figurine by the boys feet. It seems like the figure didn't finish the clean-up process, and then was glazed over anyway, but not colored. The tip of the gun is broken off, but that was a later flaw I believe, as the glaze does not cover the break.

It looks exactly like this figurine: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/213764 but completely white. It is 5" tall.

I would so appreciate information on these types of Hummel figurines! Thank you

I don't know much about this.  It was my Grandmother's.  She told me that it was her peanut cart.
I know it is brass, and when I was young I used to polish it a lot for her.
