I have an Authentic Bowie Knife Circa 1840 with a wall mount. On the handle of the knife there's a W 49 and a Western U.S.A marking. The title of the post is engraved on the wall mount.
I was given an old Lane Cedar Chest that I am going to give my daughter for her 16th birthday. I was wondering what the value and exact age of it is. I have to put one of the legs back on it. I also think at one time, it had a drawer underneath it in the center that I would like to replace if possible? Other than that, it just needs to be cleaned up. The Style is: 9593-23 and the serial number is: 2375110. Any help would be appreciated. I have enclosed some pictures of the chest as I am unable to find one like it on the Internet. Inside, I found the letter of Authenticity with the Insurance Replacement Value of up to $500.00 for a three year period.
This is a cabinet i recieved from a relative who has had this for over 50 years. There is a picture of a knight riding a horse on the front. I cannot find any other cabinet like this anywhere, or its value. There is a marking "104" inside the cabinet, which I do not know what it means. There is a sticker on the back of the cabinet reading:
Hastings
317 (or 517, the sticker is cut off at the top)
Italian Wal.
It is in good condition some scratches on the bottom portion, and it is missing two little nobs in the from, otherwise it is in good condition for being this old. I would love it if someone knew anything about it and would let me know its value or any other information!
