meriden b . co. piece-unknown

Category
Metalware
Condition
Fair
Description

base- looks like a clild like flower...6 round edges. in 2 layers.

skinny stem about 1 inch high leading to an egg like vessel where it holds a liquid?

on this vessel it is covered with vines,vines,leaves and grapes(2 bunches of grapes on each side)

there is a cross in the biddle center of the vessel. it is about 1inch high and has 3 rounded edges on each end of the cross. the cross is inside an oval with a criss-cross backround inside the oval.the cross is solid.

there is a ring /lip where the *vessel* meets the neck-

the neck of the vessel is about 2- inches high.  and is not curved. straight up. there is a handle on it and the part you hold is completely straight up. not rounded out in an *ear*shape. it leads up to a circular ring.. simmilar to the design of a old fashoned baby  diaper pin.....the bottom of the straight handle is connectd to the vessel bu a 3 pointed leaf...there is a wide brimmed lip arounf the top,like a spout...the front*pouring part* is wide and thick. about 1 inche wide and goes out about .5 inch.

on the base,enderneeth , it says meriden b. company in a small circle. meriden is on top and b. co. is curving under with a scale inside the circle. under that there is a number 1 on it. and under that it says usa.

no visable yr. high patina.

email me for pics.

Circa 1930's Chairs

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Set of 4 wooden chairs.  Believed to be part of a late 1930's kitchen set.  Appear to be solid wood with metal braces in the corners of the seat.  The #'s 841 and 7-38 appear under the seat but no manufacturer's information.

Green trim on back and legs of chair.  "Handle" part of the back piece.

I'm looking for any information about these chairs including:

* How rare/common they are

*  Is the cushion shown original to the chair

* Is the late 1930's correct?

* Value
