The second painting is a depiction of a man guiding two horses that are dragging a piece of timber through a snow covered forest. The back of the painting has a stamp that reads "registrazione registered Italy" and another stamp that also reads " registered 304301". There also appears to have been a piece of paper that was glued on to the back with a description of the painting but it is mostly missing now with only about a third of it remaining and hardly legible.
Oil painting purchased from the Schaeffer Galleries, San Francisco in the 1970s. I inherited paintings from a family member who collected fine art paintings and exclusively dealt with the Schaeffer Galleries for the entire collection. Unfortunately I am unable to identify the painting or the artist, and the identifying records were lost for two of the paintings. The painting depicts an older man with gray hair and a gray beard looking up and to the side. The signature on the painting is "R.A.M."
Hello! I recently acquired this antique porcelain serving dish at a pre-moving sale, and would like to know more about it. I think I paid $20 or $30 for it. I used Lens and found a remarkably similar one made in Limoges. However I can’t read the makers signature on the back. Can anyone help??
