This is a fish shaped wooden box. Appears to be hand-carved. It has a hinged lid that swings out from a single nail at the fish eye. Interior of the box has two carved our spaces - one long and narrow in the fish tail (approx 3 inches by 1 inches) and the other a round space in the fish "head" ( 1.5 inches diameter) The interior compartments are less than a half inch deep. There are scales, an ey, and tail markings carved into the lid of the box. The rest of the exterior is plain and scuffed with age. This may be a hook or net needle box.
