Empire Bench?

Category
Furniture
Condition
Poor
Description

I bought this very beautiful piece last night at an auction...it was advertised as an "Empire" bench. The bench is made of beautiful wood and has leather upholstery. It is stuffed with a mixture of horse hair and straw. I've included several pictures with the hopes that someone can tell me what I have gotten myself into. I would like to refinish and reupholster the piece myself but after inspecting it, I think I may have to send it elsewhere.

Tabor Prang print

Category
Decorative Arts
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a lithograph, or more likely a photogravure, by the Tabor Prang Art Co. of Sprinfield, MA. The copyright is 1907. The picture appears to be of Venice, however I cannot make out the name of the artist. (It could be Carol, Carolt, Cakolt. There is an initial or two, but again, hard to make out. One of the letters appears to be a G, but there may be an A on top of the G.)

The frame is original though it has been repainted in gold leaf. The glass has been replaced at some time. The frame measures 29 1/2" wide x 16 1/2" high. The width of the farme sides is 2" The print is in excellent shape with no visible problems at all.
