Octagonal wood table/cabinet

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

The cabinet is 24 inches tall and octagonal.  It is approximately 24 inches from point to point and 22 inches across the flat.  It is solid wood with veneer. It appears to be mahogany or maybe walnut, the grain is very tight and rather shallow.  But it is veneered so I don't know if the grain is a judge of type of wood.  The finish appears to be french polished.   The interior is quite dark, as with age.  The bottom has been stapled at the joints.  The bottom appears new and it has been repaired (?)/worked on with new wood and screws.

Strativarious Violin Copy and Case

Category
Music and Music Instruments
Condition
Good
Description

I have a copy of a stradivarious faciebat cremona violin it was made in 1713. It has two bows one in great condition the other one needs to be rehaired. It also has rosin, a replacement bridge, and some old replacement strings. It has a recipt from a person who bought it from an antique store in july 26 1963. The violin has all 4 pegs but only one rusty and wierd looking fine tuner. The body as some loss of paint and finishing. It has one tiny scratch on the side. It also has a thing that looks like it clips to the bridge. The case is old and very worn. The paint is falling off. It has about a two inch long crack on the side going up it.

Chippendale Chairs falling apart

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Twenty years ago, I purchased 6 of Chippendale chairs at a garage sale.  A few of them began falling apart so I put them in storage.

I've decided to fix them and noticed that there's some writing in black marker where the chair back meets the seat. It appears to be European writing, as the 7 has the line crossed, and the 9 is written differently than we in the USA write 9's.

It's hard to see, but it appears to read s.25 985 PW H.24 on one chair

The other chair reads s25 997 px a8.

4 of the chairs are in great condition, two need to be repaired. The seats have been reupholstered several times that I know about. They have ball and claw feet in the front and a shell design on the top.

There are round metal flathead screws on that hold the chairs together.

I'd love to hear if anyone thinks these are old or have any value.

Thanks so much!
