Japanese Shoji Screen

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Good
Description

I have a folding Japanese Shoji screen made with intricate hand-embroidered silk. It is made up of 6 panels and is in almost perfect condition with the exception of a small tear on the side. It was purchased by my mother-in-law in Japan in the 1940s. I would like to know how much something like this would be worth?

Very Old South American Dagger-Steel Blade Solid Brass Bird Head (God?) Handle

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

The gentleman I bought this dagger from  said that it was in fact an artifact from South America-but he was unclear (a bit senile) on where, and when, or what it was used for. As can be seen in the photos, it appears to have been hand forged steel (the blade) and the handle has intricate tribal (Inca?, Aztec? Toltec?Mayan? Olmec?)patterns-and the head of a bird (God?) at the top of the handle. It is VERY heavy, and has a sharp point at the tip of the blade.
