Murano Glass Rooster

Category
Glass
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a glass rooster, very heavy maybe 6-8 pounds. It is between 9 3/4 to 10 inches high and 7 inches width from front to tail. I recieved item as a gift from a mystery christmas penpal. The person shipped it from New Mexico but i think it was purchased at a yard sale or something along that line. I do not have it listed on ebay at this time, but would be willing to sell it. Just wondering if it is worth anything.

Sterling Cross made in London by HF & Co Ltd.

Category
Jewelry and Gemstones
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a sterling silver cross in its original box that is marked "Whittemore Associates Inc. Boston 8. Mass, Made in England.  The box ha silver silk on top stamped with above and velvet inlay for the cross.  The markings on the back of the cross are Made in England, HF & Co Ltd., the lion for 0.925 sterling, a lion head without crown for London 1300 to present, and an e for the date letter of 1960.  It has a silver stone in the center starburst and each end of the cross section has a figure, the top is an angel, the right is a dog/cow, the bottom is an eagle and the left is a lion/cat with wings.  This needs to be polished but is in outstanding condition as is the box.  I can find very little about the maker or the seller other than they made/sold ecclesiastical items.  I was looking for addition information and to know if this is worth more than its weight in silver.  Thanks in adavance.

Made in Japan vase

Category
Pottery
Condition
Fair
Description

The vase is matte, un-glazed, seemingly unpainted except for a small bit of painting on the embossed flowers.

Frankly, I think it's ugly, but I've learned that ugly doesn't necessarily indicate worth.

A small piece of the rim had broken and evidently glued back on by my aunt.

I've never seen anything like it; it seems odd and untypical of things I've seen made in Japan.
