Antique Hospital Medical Cabinet -- circa 1940's / WWII era

This cabinet was used in an old hospital in NC which today is used as retirement rooms.

This metal cabinet came from an old hospital in NC which was used until the 70's.

this item was found in old cellar when i was 12 ( now 43) have held on to it . now wondering what it is and if worth anything.

I am looking for any information regarding the time period, value, maker, etc.  Thanks

 I would have thought it relatively simple to get a handle on this item but not so. I have searched high and low to find another....any information....not a thing!

I do understand the 5 may represent the number of gallons but what does the Z mean?

Can anyone help with the age of the item and value.

The overall condition is good. The top rim has a few chips and wear to the inner opening.
