Antique Brass Bed

Category
Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

Heavy brass 3" tubular bed. It has a 2 horizontal bars, one across the top and one across the bottom.  5 vertical center bars with "balls" in the center. These balls teir up in the center.  It has no markings other than a "R" on the end of each rale.  I am looking for ideas on the manufacturer, the age and the approximate value.  There is only 2 small dings in the top cap, other than that, in excellent condition.

8.5 Ft. Tall Steiff Giraffe

Category
Dolls and Plush Toys
Condition
Excellent
Description

This original Steiff giraffe was a gift to my father at my birth in 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  It has traveled with our family to homes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Illinois.  Seymore the Giraffe - so named because he can "see more" has appeared in parades, fashion shows, and many special events.  He likes to dress seasonally or for special occaisions.

My parents recently moved to a home that couldn't fit Seymore and gifted him to me - and he now resides in Chicago where he overlooks other tall creatures - like the John Hancock and Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower).

My 4.5 year old and 1 year old sons are very fond of Seymore and would like to learn more about when he was made, how he came to the US (made in Germany) and his approximate value - so that I can adequately insure this family jewel.

Banjo? Mandolin? Manjolin? What is this and how much $? Help!

Category
Music and Music Instruments
Condition
Fair
Description

This item was passed down to me by my grandfather. He got it a very long time ago for doing a huge favor for a friend. I'm unsure of where that man got it from. The instrument is in fairly good condition for it's age. It has a few minor cracks on the head but nothing serious. I found one of these online a few years ago being sold but I am unable to find anything on the internet at this time. I cannot play it and it's really just collecting dust so I would love to sell it.
