Found the chairs at a garage sale and I had to buy them because they were so beautiful. I'm missing 2 chairs from the set. I have 5 dining chairs and 1 captains chair. The chairs are red velvet, and looks like original upholstery along and beautiful craftsmanship. They do no look to have been refurnished. At the bottom of each chair there is a brass plate that read "Made especially for Mr & Mrs R H Henel by Marlau of Madrid" I know nothing more.
This is a great leather trunk that I know nothing about. It is missing the inner tray which most likely had the makers label on the bottom. The exterior shows the wear of use including the remainder of a railway sticker. The interior, with exception on the missing tray, is in immaculate condition. The lather straps are solid with no nicks, fraying, or any signs of wear. The hinges are solid and the ornate latches work perfectly. There is no key for the lock. If anyone can give me a bit of insight as to who made this, when it was made, and what it might be worth I would greatly appreciate it.
I have been looking on-line for quite some time now trying to find a simular piece. I have never been able to locate a picture like it. If anyone would know more information about this print or about how much it is worth it would be greatly appreciated. I may be interested in selling it
