Oak desk / table with drawer and inlaid top

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

My fiance bought this table/ desk in Toronto, Canada, in a used furniture store. The legs are solid oak pieces, and the top is inlaid oak veneer. There is one drawer, and carvings on four sides (including the drawer).  He refinished it by removing the stain and varnishing it, intending to give it to someone as a housewarming present. But now it won't fit in with  the rest of the furnishings, so he wants to sell it. We need to know how best to describe this item, and what a fair market value would be. Thank you!
