Antique Vintage Asian Carved Bone Vase or Mosaic Lacquer Vase

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Excellent
Description

Outstanding Antique or Vintage Asian carved bone vaseor mosaic lacquer vase with intricate design. This must have taken ages to complete and the workmanship is outstanding! I've never seen one like this before and I fell in love with it on sight.  It has gorgeous water lotus flowers all over the vase and other floral along with lacy scrollwork. It is laquer over a very heavy brass vase and stands 7 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide. It is in incredible condition except for one small edge chip that is extremely narrow and only took off a sliver and two fleabites that are really tiny. Not sure of the age on this but believe it is an early piece due to extensive research.

American Folk Portrait Post Mortem Children and Dog

Category
Folk Art
Condition
Fair
Description

I bought this painting at an auction 5 or so years ago because I just love the subject, and despite it's age, and lots of cracking in the painting, it has tremendous color. It appears to have been repaired several times also. When I bought, it was sold as attributed to Joshua Johnson. Mid 1800's who painting mourning portraits. There is no signature. I am just putting this out there to see if anyone can tell me anymore about this or give me an appraisal. I know that in that time period they did paint portraits of dead children, I wish I knew who had painted it.

El Viejo The Old Spaniard

Category
Paintings
Condition
Good
Description

This is an old painting that I recently came upon in a thrift store. It looks very old. It is an oil on canvas board. The signature is on the right and appears to be the intitials A J. One the back there is an inscription that reads El Viejo, en espanol, and The Old Spaniard. It is in very good condition with one small chip in the paint on the right side. Any information would be helpful.
