My grandparents brought these pieces over from Germany while stationed there in the late 50's. Other than that I don't know much about them. I have since inheirited them due to my mother's passing. The hutch was actually hung on the wall of my grandparents kitchen for as long as I can remember. They are both beautiful pieces and I just want to see if I can find any history on them. There are no markings that I can find, except a sticker on the bottom of the hutch, and it is almost unreadable, I have uploaded pictures. The boxes that the hutch is on are old library card boxes, I know where they came from. There is no one left to ask about them. Thank you for your time.
Found out the mane blade was from a British sword and the Philipines killed the Brits and put wood made dog heads on blades so they wouldnt loose there grip when in battle.

This walnut desk has been in my family since at least the 60's. It has a drop-lid front that has carvings of cherubs riding on waves (?). Inside the desk are cubby holes without doors, two cubby holes with doors, and four small drawers (two on each side). Underneath the drop lid is a narrow drawer that spans the entire width of the desk. Below that are two doors; behind one door are three drawers and behind the other is a shelf. At each end of the desk, where the drop lid folds down is a carving of a lion's head and below each head, at the very bottom of the desk is a carved foot.
