The bottom bowl's lid has a groove that matches a piece on the bottom of the top bowl. It's actually pretty neat. Sadly I really know nothing of the history of this. Hopefully someone here will.
its a rectangle black onyx tremed bulova watch with a thin silverish band it has a jewel on the winding knob and it has 14 more jewels inside the works of the watch.

Bought in early 1900s; used a lot; was left to my grandmother in 1963, continued to be used, until approximately 1965. It has been stored in a home and displayed as a piece of furniture. It works, but may need some tuning. The cabinet also needs to be touched up. In good condition.
