VINTAGE HAND-MADE CANDLE IS OF A BOY AND A GIRL CLINGING TO EACH OTHER IN A COURTYARD. THERE IS GREAT DETAIL OF BUILDINGS SURROUNDING THEM WITH A HORSE DRAWN COACH. THIS CANDLE HAS NEVER BEEN LIT. IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. IT STILL HAS COLOR THAT BRINGS OUT ALL OF THE WORKMANSHIP. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WORK. IT ALSO HAS A REMOVABLE PIECE THAT COMES OUT THAT HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED. I DON'T KNOW THE HISTORY OF THIS CANDLE, AS I BOUGHT IT AT A YARD SALE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS CANDLE. I WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN SELLING IT.

Hawkeye by Burlington, Burlington Basket Company, Burlington Iowa

Category
Home Furnishings
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a footstool sized sewing box. It's made out of wood with Art Deco style dark wood legs and gold plating at the bottom of the legs (or maybe gold paint?). It has a foam padded top and the outside upholstery is made of a imprinted green vinyl. The lid opens and the lid is lined with tan satin which has two pockets sewn into the interior. Also the inside is open with a small 5 inch shelf. The inside is painted a green shade slightly darker than the outside color. There is a plastic gold trim around the top and bottom, and the two handles are in great condition - except the left is kind of loose, and just needs to be tightened. The hinge that holds the lid up is slightly bent and scrapes against the wood on the inside and has pulled off some of the paint, also making it harder to lift, but it's not really that bad. It's in really great condition, and I absolutely love it!
