Is this worth getting appraised

Artists Proof of "Do You Revers" by Carol Lummus

 My great-grandmother gave this piece to my mom. My great-grandmother got it from her mom. My great-grandmother was well over 100 years of age when she died.

Set of 6 floral dishes (3 each of two patterns).  In excellent condition.  Back is stamped "Kirkmans Borax Soap. Save the Wrappers"

I have a China Cabinet labeled Distinctive Furniture by Stanley that I received from my aunt. I would like to know the value of it. 

I bought this from an estate sale back in the 80's and was told it was an 1890's Victorian slipper chair. I'm just curious to know if that's actually what it is, where it possibly came from, if the era is correct, and how much it's potentially worth!
