Can anyone help me with this.  I don't have any information except what is stated before. I bought it a a thrift store for 50.00 dollars.  when pulled out of frame its on paper ,but is taped onto a cardboard box of some kind, like the ones that they used for shirt boxes long ago. and there is watercolor marks on the cardboard like the artist was testing his/hers color pallet. It is signed mackenzie kinda sideways part of the way up on the lefk side in the grass.  Anyway any kind of information would be helpful, so thanks in advance..    Merry Christmas to All

Antique Silk Geisha Doll

Category
Dolls and Plush Toys
Condition
Good
Description

I honestly have little information to share about this item.

It appears to be quite old and has beautiful detail. She is holding a mirror in her right hand and has sticks in her hair which appear to be made of plastic, but could be made of another material. The clothing appears to be made primarily of cloth, but I'm not to sure about that.

The base of the item is wood and measures 6in x 7in. It is painted with a dark black paint. The numbers 0783-B appear on bottom in pencil, there significance is unknown

The Geisha definitely needs some attention. There is some dust and some of the hair appears to be in need of some styling, though none appears to be missing.  Mirror is intact but needs cleaning along with the base.

I hope to pass this on to someone that has an interest.  I only run the risk of damaging it.
