This bedroom set came from an elderly relative, and I am not sure of the date of purchase. I would guess sometime in the 1940's. I believe it is made out of walnut. All three pieces have nice burled wood inlays and intricate carved wooden decorations. The front feet of all pieces have brass decorations. THe front of the dresser curves out in the middle. The pieces are in good-excellent condition. There is some wear on the top of the dresser and along some of the wood edgings. Each piece has a metal insignia inside reading "Johnson Furniture Company, Grand Rapids."
I bought this china closet at a yard sale, I found a tag in the top drawer Hoosier Company Indiania. This is not a hoosier cabinet with flour sifter porcelin top, bread box etc. this is a china cupboard. I can find lots of info on hoosier cabinets like that but no info on the other types of furniture this company produced. I wish to know if they did indeed produce other furniture besides the well known hoosier cabinets.
