My grandparents owned a matching couch, armchair and 3 side chairs that were used as sitting chairs in their house. The arm and side chair seem like dining room furniture, but the matching couch throws things off. At any rate, I'd like to complete the arm chair and side chairs for use as my dining room set; however, I have no idea how to look for them since I know nothing about the name of the furniture, the maker or even the era. Any help on how to go about trying to find matching chairs would be great, and a ballpark on how much I could expect to pay would be even better!
I will upload a picture asap but until then let me just say that I feel some deep history about this chair. I'm reminded of "Little House On The Prairie" when I look at the crude material it's made of. I have only been able to find out the approx. dates the Co. made this chair and that being 1885. A search of Ebay estimated the value of both chair and desk and just the chair alone but I'm not sure if that was based on this particular maker of school desks and chairs.
