This glass vanity was given to me by my grandmother. She was born in 1899, probably married around 1920. The mirror is held to the base by 4 screws. The lights work. Front drawer glass is cracked, also cover for left light bulb is broken (I have the pieces). There are no markings whatsoever on this piece, except for crayon markings on the bottoms of the drawers, "1" and "2".
Beautiful plate with bright colors, glazed over painting and border of plate on back. Center of plate on back is unglazed and rough. No signature on front of plate although back bears faint signature that could be byerly. Gilt on front of plate is raised.
This lamp is awesome. It has a shade that is very heavy, detailed with hearts and the initials P. H. on all six panels. The lavender slag is beautiful, the panels in the shade match the slag in the base, which serves as a night light. The initials P. H. are found in the base as well. I have not been ablet o locate another one like this, apparently the night lights were not commonly made.
I would appreciate help with dating and the value of the piece.
