Plates appear to be handpainted as the surface is raised and not glossy. Also appears to have gold trim. On the back all of the plates have a red-orange mark (lettering) which appear to be in Chinese. I researched a bit and found a close match to the mark in a smaller famille dessert plate.
I received this from my grandmother. I believe she had since before I was born (1970). I can not offer much more information. I thought the joining on the drawers was interesting.
