The book has a very decorative cover, has a picture of the author inside, 425 pages, published in 1879, and has a name and date written on the inside cover.
This is an original pen and ink by Ruth Jorgensen. Was matted and framed immediately upon purchase. Piece itself is in mint condition. Paper is slightly aged, but was in this condition at time of purchase. It's one of the earlier works in this artist's career.
I just noticed today when taking them down that they both have a partial SyrocoWood blk/gold sticker on the back. They also have table supports which are broken on each but still attached via an original blk cotton cloth "string". They have always been hung on the wall in my home via wires that were on them when purchased (but clearly added). They have a thick brown feltish feeling backing to them and the mirrors show some fine black specking and few "spots" of the same nature. The carvings appear like scrollwork almost to my eye and the background is gold while the top coloring appears a brownish/greenish color (appears gold all over in sunlight and almost a silver in natural or room lighting on a wall).
