this is an old fire extinguisher

Bed was painted prior to coming into my hands. The original wood is dark. This bed is light weight and is easily carried in pieces. Nothing has been modified/fixed. It is missing one corner cap on the curved footboard. I am having difficulty adding the picture 

This appears to be an ashtray. The holder on one side has picture of a woman and one side has picture of a shield. unfortunately they did not photograph to well, only side veiw is clear. I would appreciate anything you can tell me about this item
