This platter was passed down thru our family. It is in exceptionally good condition, with very little if any wear, no chips, cracks, dings, or other minor or major problems. Looks like new but a more critical eye might find a very minor flaw I am not aware of. However, the glaze does have very fine "cracks" (what I would call "alligatoring if it were paint, see photo closeup). I saw one exactly like this on display at The Alamo museum in San Antonio, TX back in the late 1960s which was dated 1834 (not sure if that was correct but could be). I also saw one in an antique ceramics book back in the 1980s which gave it a value then of about $80. I am not sure it is valuable, but it certainly has survived our family remarkably well! We would just like an educated opinion of what its value might be. Thank you very much! Bob M.
