Hope someone is able to tell me what this box was used for. The inscription reads" House of Commons, Oct 16 1834." That was the day of the great fire at the British Parliament building. Perhaps this was a commemorative box or a way to raise funds for the rebuilding effort. I have no idea but would like to find out.
