Just curious about the books worth...it is definately a salesman's copy, in the back there are lined pages to write subscribers names and addresses. On the page prior, some sales points...states "not General Grant's memoirs but equally important. His own book closes with the war - this book completes the life story. Not a competitor, but a companion." It also lists pricing; bound in silk cloth, new designs in black and gold, plain edges, $3.00; bound in silk cloth, new design, in black and gold, plain edges, gilt edges $3.50; bound in fine half morocco, gilt edges $5.00.
