1920s Jacobean Dining Room Suite

By PhiAbiMat938257, 9 August, 2023
Description

I recently inherited a suite of 1920s Jacobean Dining Room Furniture. I would like to sell the suite to help finance my children's college education. The suite is in good, but not pristine, condition. The only information my aunt gave me about the furniture is that is was purchased by my great grandfather in the mid to late 1920s. I found no distinguishing marks or paperwork. The furniture was delivered to my home earlier this year. The enclosed pictures were taken in my driveway on August 1st, 2023. Of course, the furniture is stored safely in my residence in Lenoir, NC.

Looks like a Jacobean…

Looks like a Jacobean Revival suite by Johnson Handley, a company located in Grand Rapids Michigan. The Jacobean Revival style which was popular during the 1920's, values for these sets peaked again in the late 1980's, demand and values have declined a great deal since then. In the current market comparable suites now often sell at auction for less than $1000.00
