Description
Antique bronze colored Abraham Lincoln statue by Alexander Backer. The statue is made of ceramic(to the best of my knowledge) and stands appoximately 17.5 inches tall. There is very minimal aging on the statue. Overall this piece is in excellent condition. The artist stamp read Alexander Backer Co.

History
My dad was given this as a gift 15 years ago. The person that gave the item to him had it for at least 30 years. We know nothing about the piece and would like information on it. I have searched online and found several things by this artist but not this specific one.

Your bust of Lincoln is painted chakware ( plaster) . As far as I know Alexander Backer made a huge range of chalkware busts and statues as late as the 1950's. Values for the busts tend to be modest, with most selling at auction for less than $50.00
