Description
This is an antique chair with round back and four legs that circle the original round padding of the seat. We found it at a thrift store and the guy said at an antiques store it could get hundreds but he doesnt have his business anymore so was just going to donate it to the thrift store. It has all the original stuffing and fabric dating he said from the 1800s. We think it is Victorian but we really dont know anything other than we LOVE it! All carvings are still intact and is in the same condition as it was probably back then just a little worn where the fabric is.
Re: antique 4 legged round back chair
This piece actually dates from the turn of the 19th century, similar pieces were listed in mailorder furniture catalogs of companies such as Montgomery Ward in the 1890's, charmingly referred to as being in the " Fancy French" style. Today similar chairs sell for about $200.00.
