Antique Carved, Painted and Gold Gilted Wall Mirror...Exquisite!

By BzyLzy, 17 April, 2010
Description

This is a stunningly beautiful mirror! Every single inch of it is done in tremendous detail. It is in great shape except for a few minor chips, but the bottom feet have suffered some damage as shown. One is slightly chipped, the other is missing the leaves entirely. The glass mirror is showing some signs of aging, but it is not bad at all! The paper is nearly all taken off the back, but enough remains intact to indicate the mirror, is still the original, I believe. The upper most part of the frame carvings look to be made of plaster and somehow attached to the wooden frame? The painted portions of the flowers are subtle until you are up close enough to notice...what a lovely added touch.
