Description
This is an old chair with an unusual shape – it has continuous cushions from the arms to seat to back, no breaks. I have looked at over 2000 photos of chairs on eBay and other sites and have not yet seen one like it. It is not in really good condition; it has a dirt spot in the seating area, and one front leg was partially broken and repaired. The two casters on the front are stamped with “PATD FEB 13, 1894”, so I assume it is quite old.
If anyone has any idea what style it is, and maybe a rough value, I would greatly appreciate it. It was going to be thrown out but I would hate to find out it was valuable.
Thanks
Re: Antique Chair with curved Cushion
It's a late Victorian piece, loosely based on the Renaissance Revival Style. No big value though, as the market for Victorian upholstered furniture is currently very weak. We'd retail on like this for about $225.00.
