Antique chairs with hand painted Asian scenery

Description

There are 4 chairs in the set.  Black laquer with hand painted scenes on the chair backs.  Purchased in Europe over 70 years ago.  Seats have been recovered but  the rest is original.  Looking for both the story behind the chairs and the current value of the chairs.  Any valid appraisal is very much appreciated.

Distinguishing marks
Have not located a brand or logo on the chairs but did not open the underside of the seat cushion.
