Description
I have an antique dining room set that my grandparents bought as an antique in the 1960's. The only markings I can find is a stamp under the table that reads "ant mhy 4562". The set includes an oval table with at least 4 leaves, 12 chairs, a china hutch with a large curved glass door, a 6 foot buffet and a smaller buffet. I would like to know the value of the set.
Antique dining set
Well it's almost old enough to be antique, it dates from the 1920's from the look of it and is in the Federal Revival style. Federal furniture was originally made circa 1780-1830, the style being revived after the Centennial celebrations in 1876. Most American makers had their own line of it by the 1920's. In the shop we'd list this set at about $3500.00.
