Description

This Firescreen made from Mahogany and featuring Peacocks was bought from the contents sale of 'The Deanery' Sonning Berkshire in 1982..

The Deanery was built to the design of   Sir Edwin Lutyen's, and the gardens designed by Gertrude Jekyll. The house was built for Edward Hudson founder of Country Life magazine.

 

The firescreen is from the early 20th century and is is of the Arts & Crafts movement.

It is a beautifully designed & carved piece of furniture which looks so immpressive.
