I inherited a very old, very heavy (what was explained to me to be) an Italian marble coffee table. It has very nice wood carving design throughout. My grandmother had this in her home in the 50's but I cannot predate it any further than that. There is no make or model, but a few number markings which I have included. It bears the name "Chester" in chalk underneath, and the numbers (6174) and (3-59). Any information would be great. Thanks, Andrew

Re: Antique Italian marble wood carved coffee table
Your table was very likely bought new by your Grandmother, it is not actually an antique, the numbers "3-59" on the underside of the slab are most likely the date the marble was cut, March, 1959. tables like this were made for the export market after World War Two (1945)
