Antique Singer Sewing Machine with Original Wood "Parlor" Cabinet and Extra Parts

Profile picture for user MissizCampy
By MissizCampy, 13 October, 2014
Description

Antique Singer Sewing Machine with original wood cabinet.

I believe the name is "Parlor" style cabinet.

"Singer" handles on the drawers and doors.

Full floor cabinet with cast iron pedal.

The serial number is: 9020617

The sewing machine itself is in great working condition.

In the drawers are extra metal machine parts.

The sewing machine can either be lowered down into the cabinet and covered by the swinging wood cover for a flat desk look, hiding the sewing machine, or pulled back up and locked into place when it's time to sew.

History
It belonged to a family in Monterey California, of whom I purchased it from. They told me it originally belonged to their great Grandmother who was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. They're last great relative passed away leaving the sewing machine and other antique pieces with them.
They said that before their grandfather passed, who was the son of the Great Grandmother, who first had the sewing machine, he wanted to get it professionally refurbished to look the way it did when his mother was alive. He kept good care of it, which is probably why it still works so amazingly still today. But he never was able to get a professional to do a full refurbishing done.
